What an appointment costs
Hinterland Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice. That means some appointments are bulk billed, with nothing to pay on the day, and the rest are privately billed: you pay the consultation fee, and Medicare pays a rebate back into your bank account, usually within a day or two. Reception can register your bank details with Medicare if they are not already.
The figures below are a guide to a privately billed appointment. The out-of-pocket column is what you are actually left paying.

Bulk billing
Who we bulk bill
As a mixed billing practice, these patients are bulk billed for standard consultations, so there is nothing to pay on the day. If you are not sure whether an appointment will be bulk billed, ask reception when you book.

Longer appointments, procedures and some services are charged at the fees above. If you are not sure what your appointment will cost, ask reception when you book — they would far rather tell you beforehand.
Other charges
Things people ask about
Repeat prescriptions. A fee may apply if a script is requested without consultation.
Missed appointments. If you cannot make an appointment, please let us know as early as you can so the time can go to somebody else. A fee may apply where an appointment is missed without notice.
Insurance, employment and licence medicals. These are not covered by Medicare and are quoted before the appointment, because the cost depends on what the form asks for.
Payment. EFTPOS, credit card and cash at reception.
